Smax took some time off from Mole/KDR to send over a little EP he released for free last week. Their sound is making some serious waves over in Pakistan, and I’m excited to hear how this material will influence the scene out there. I’ve already started receiving submissions from other electronic artists in their area. Mole is a collective of beatmakers based in Karachi, Pakistan whose members include D.I.D. favorites Granneh, Smax, and Faizan. They spent the summer recording at a studio they built in their city, and are just starting to throw the first pieces up on their soundcloud. I Need You is my favorite beat from the bunch, highlighting a tremendous ability and potential from these up and coming producers. Stay tuned for more info on their next release.

I have been listening to Tame Impala‘s Innerspeaker for about a month now, and it sounds as fresh to me as the day I first heard their track Expectations. I honestly feel that Innerspeaker is one of the best albums of 2010. Every song on the album is a treasure chest full of sonic euphoria. This is what rock bands today should sound like. It seems like these boys stepped into the scene straight from the 60′s. They are currently working on their second LP, which I cannot wait for. For now, here are some blissed out tunes from the album.

Floating Alley always stood out from the plethora of beats that were blaring from Smax‘s room at any given moment, and he just sent over a mastered version of the jam for our enjoyment. This beat is really making me wish I was going back to the Green Mountains. I can only imagine what he and Granneh will do at school this year. We haven’t received any more info on Space Explorations, but you can still enjoy his mix of the month here.
