‘Breaking Hearts’ is a lost tune from the T. I. P. catalogue, and shows that there still is much more to come from this forward thinking producer. Keep your eyes on his soundcloud for more gems, including this ‘InspHERation’ mix he made for BBC Radio 1 that features some of the best tracks by Gold Panda, Flying Lotus, Delorean, De La Soul, and Jai Paul.

Shigeto is on Ghostly International (home of Mux Mool, Gold Panda, and Com Truise among others) and our brothers at Streets Of Beige will be presenting him at the Rhythm Factory for cheap next Monday. Lapalux and Greenwood Sharps are also going to be on the bill, and the SOB boys had Shigeto contribute to their genre defining mix series. A plethora of the UK’s finest producers have focused their energy on creating minimal house for the time being, and Gold Panda‘s DJ-Kicks compilation showcases this astute collection of up-and-comers. Tracks from artists like Bok Bok, Zomby, and Matthewdavid are left mostly untouched and worked around a few of his own pieces – which make the most of his SM58 – and highlight how articulate Derwin can be on the dancefloor. I’m particularly enamored with the SND tune he threw into the mix. It’s the perfect accoutrement for any change of season, and can be purchased just about everywhere you can think of.

An Iceberg Hurled Northward Through Clouds is the first track on Gold Panda‘s Dj-Kicks compilation, and he shared the tune with his friends on facebook this morning. Iceberg echoes the deep house direction he’s taken since releasing MPB, with a myriad of bells and chimes swirled around soft kicks and poignant synths. You’ll have to wait a couple more weeks before you can get your hands on this release.

Gold Panda will be joining the ranks of Kode9 and Chromeo with the release of his very own DJ-Kicks compilation through Berlin’s !K7 Records this Halloween. We were sent the tracklist for the compilation, which features tracks from Matthewdavid, Bok Bok, and Zomby, in addition to a new original work that he’s kicking it off with. It’s crazy to think about how far he’s come since we first wrote about him two years ago, and you need to get yourself to his UK/US mini-tour next month if you’ll be in the area.
