Remixes have become vehicles of influence. They allow an artist to define themselves in relation to their contemporaries, as well as introduce their sound to a wider audience. My favorite artists seem to understand this concept, and this list of remixes embraces an evolution in the industry.

The Alpha Snail – “Tiny Pants”

Tiny Pants is a French-filtered disco jam that came to us from Chicago’s The Alpha Snail, who just released his debut EP on Champagne Records. His sound is very similar to LBCK/Allure, and Tiny Pants has a hook that snags from start to finish. You can download the entire Sam Bowie EP for free on his soundcloud.

The guys over at Record Makers recently told me about a Sebastian Tellier remix album that dropped back in April. So many of the artists we’ve featured have thrown down on this album. Sexuality was one of my favorite releases of the decade, and it’s great to see it get this treatment. You can purchase the album on Amazon for less that $9.
